    Offerings for the 2007-2008 school year include:

    Youth

    School Age Child Care – before and after school care for Elementary students in the Elementary School previously run by Town Recreation on Colman Blvd. and in Lakeside Park.

    Summer Arts & Sciences Institute – the YMCA is working with local artists to integrate the learning of environmental science with the expression of visual arts to create this 3 week summer program.

     

    Tween Clubs:

    Creative Cooks Club – meets Thursdays after school in the Middle School Home and Careers room and is designed for tweens to plan, prepare, eat, clean-up and evaluate healthy foods. Currently accepting registrations to be placed on the Waiting List of one of this year’s sessions. 

    Earth Service Corp – meets weekly in Pawling on Tuesdays after school in the Lions Club building in Murrow Park to learn about environmental issues and local ecology and to develop and carry out service projects. There is still space in this club and the YMCA is currently accepting registrations from Middle School aged youth.

    Running Club – meets Wednesdays after school in the Middle School to help youth get fit, fast, healthy and while having fun running!!!  Club will integrate trail runs, relay races and running games.  Students will have an opportunity to choose a running game at some point during the season.

    Junior Leaders Club – plans are currently being developed to start this club for 7th and 8th graders.  Check back for more information as it becomes available.

     

    Teen Clubs

    Y Leaders Club – for High School aged teens, this club meets weekly in Pawling on Thursday evenings, and periodically for trips, community service and conferences.  Its purpose is to develop leadership skills with experiential opportunities in community service. Selected Leaders Club members will serve as “Interns” in YMCA Middle School Clubs and other venues in the community. There is still space in this club and the YMCA is currently accepting registrations.

    The DC YMCA began an initiative to provide programming in Pawling beginning May 2005 

    The Dutchess County YMCA is a community based organization whose purpose is to serve all individuals by providing programs and services that improve and enhance their spirit, mind and body and develop the character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.   

    All youth must be registered in advance and all registrations will be confirmed if the child is placed on a program’s roster. Please do not send a child to a program if you have not received an email or phone call confirming their placement.
